People are idiots

I will NEVER watch local news in Las Vegas again. The local news is used as a showcase for all the incompetent people who inhabit the valley. Tonight was a perfect example. There was a 10 vehicle pile up on US 95 at 4 pm tonight just as rush hour began. (No one was killed or seriously injured in the accident, although there was considerable damage to the concrete divider separating the north and south bound lanes.) For those of you that aren't familiar with Las Vegas (or don't realize that Vegas is more than just casinos), US 95 is a very busy highway that runs through the city on the east side of town up to Reno. It is usually jam packed with traffic during peak travel times. (Don't get me wrong - traffic in Vegas is non-existent compared to major cities like New York or LA)

Anyway, in any normal city, this would only make the news maybe on the 4, 5, or 6 pm broadcast. It certainly wouldn't be the lead story at 11. But whatever, its a slow news day, so they make a big deal about it. Fine. Well, the local NBC affiliate feels the need to interview people who had been involved or had witnessed the accident. Again, no big deal. Until this one guy opens his mouth. I swear I almost jumped into my TV to rip this idiot's throat out. He said, get this shit, that it was like 9/11. WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?! Excuse me? A tractor trailer slams into the median in an effort to avoid debri in the road. The debri causes other vehicles to crash into other cars, and this reminds you of what could be referred to as the worst terrorist attack on US soil in my lifetime. WHAT?!?!?!?!?!

The worst part is that this guy is representative of all the idiots in this town. Its no wonder we have the highest teen pregnancy rate in the US. Fucking idiots....
